Our Guide to Elevate Your Bed’s Aesthetic

Step 1

Start with the Foundation

We’re going back to basics. Step one may seem obvious, but it’s crucial to get it right. Start by fitting the fitted sheet snugly to your mattress. Next, lay the flat sheet, but here’s a pro tip for you - make sure it’s upside down. When you fold it back, you’ll reveal the correct flange or border, showcasing the little details in the fabric. Tuck the flat sheet neatly into the mattress or box spring for that crisp, hotel-quality finish. 

Step 2

Adding Texture + Comfort

Now that your foundation is set and you’ve curated the perfect bed design, let’s add some depth and texture. Place a coverlet on top of the fitted sheet. This acts as an inner layer under the duvet, providing that extra touch of comfort and style. 

Step 3

Creating That Hotel-Like Look

Your bed should feel like a luxurious escape — like you’re at a 5-star resort in the tropics. To achieve this, position the duvet at the end of the bed, ensuring it is layered and fluffy. This step not only adds depth but gives your bed that inviting hotel-like appearance. 

Step 4

The Perfect Pillow Arrangement

The pillows are where you can get creative and make your bed uniquely yours. Start by stacking the larger pillows, and filling the space closest to the headboard. These pillows can make your sheet set, and you can choose to stack them for a more modern look or cascade them for a traditional touch. The number of pillows is up to you, but we recommend using three for a pyramid effect. They can be three completely different pillows or two that match in size and color, with one smaller placed in front or even a long lumbar pillow for an added flourish.

Step 5

The Final Touches

To add that final touch, drape an accent throw blanket across the foot of the bed. This throw can serve multiple purposes, from adding warmth during chilly nights to enhancing your room’s overall decor. It’s perfect for those moments when you want to cuddle up and binge-watch your favorite Netflix series or curl up with your latest read.
